A Level 2 charger is a simple install done right and an expensive mess done wrong. This guide covers circuit sizing, load management, and what drives the price.

Hardwired or receptacle
A NEMA 14-50 receptacle is flexible and moves with you. A hardwired unit supports higher continuous current and is required for some load-management setups. Either is fine — the choice depends on the vehicle, the charger, and whether you want the flexibility.
Circuit sizing and continuous load
Charging is a continuous load, so the circuit is sized at 125 percent of the charger's rating. A 48A charger needs a 60A circuit. We size the conductors for the actual run length, not the minimum on a chart.
When load management beats a panel upgrade
If the panel is close to capacity, a load-management device or a charger with built-in load sharing can let you add charging without a service change. Sometimes that saves thousands; sometimes the panel needs replacing anyway. The load calculation tells us which.
Conduit routing that looks intentional
A clean home run from the panel, straight runs with consistent supports, and a charger height and cord path that actually works in your garage. This is the visible part of the job and it should look like someone planned it.
Permits and inspection
EV circuits are permitted and inspected. We pull it, meet the inspector, and leave you with a closed permit and a labeled breaker.
